It depends who you purchased your Apple Watch from. Apple and Apple Authorized Retailers register the Watches serial number for validation of any manufacturers warranty claims. Apple Care is registered the same way when purchased from Apple. If Apple Care is purchased from an Authorized Apple Retailer, Watch owner should call Apple Support and verify the registration of the Apple Care policy.
