people can’t hear me when I make a call,I’ve checked my settings and this has been going on for days,I’ve done a hard reset,I bought this iPhone 16 pro max less than a month ago,please help

My phone is 6 days old, & having the same issue intermittently, which is difficult to pick up until you make or receive a call, & then realise the other party cannot hear you.
Updating to IOS 18.1.1 has made no difference.
Switching off & back on resolves it initially (if I make a call immediately after reset other party can hear me) but it is recurring.
Been on a call with Apple twice (AppleCare & Post Sales) for almost 2 hours - remote diagnostics pick up nothing.
Disappointingly Apple refuses to replace the phone, & expects me to send the phone from New Zealand to Australia!

I have the exact same problem with a 16 pro and pro max. When will this be addressed?
This is truly unfair, I don’t expect this technical issue for such an expensive phone seriously
Same here. Phone is doing better after ios18.1 hopefully better with updates
oh. And the 16Pro is a battery hog. Use low power mode
Exactly, my fear is if there’s an emergency one day, will you have time to reset and do all 12 steps to become audible? I pray they have a recall for this problem because this a huge inconvenience
