I bought the XL sport loop (it only comes in black). I swim for an hour in a community pool, and three weeks after using the band on my watch swimming only three days/week--it has turned brown. this seems inappropriate that the color-fastness on this nylon band should be so poor. I have made apple aware this--but it strikes as poor quality from the loop provider/manufacturer

Not trying to downplay your point about the Apple Sport Loop watch band, but since you enjoy swimming, wouldn't the Apple Sport Band version be a better choice? It is my understanding that the Sport Band was designed for water sports in mind.
Wow—just to speak to your point—I had worn the sport band for years, then developed a nickel sensitivity—thus switching to the sports loop. I guess your point is to tell Apple/customers “Gee, don’t buy this if you’re a swimmer”—well congrats, your advice worked.
