iPad battery draining fast

I recently bought the new ipad pro m4, and it only has like 3 battery cycles or so. i left it with 50%, but when i woke up it only had 18%. Could someone please explain how it’s possible ?

Apps that continue to run as background tasks, while the iPad is otherwise "sleeping" in its low-power state, continue to consume battery charge. Sometimes Apps will misbehave.


Consider manually closing Apps, such as YouTube, when you are not using them. To expose the App Switcher page, swipe-upwards from the bottom edge to the centre of the screen, pausing briefly before lifting your finger from the screen; you will see a thumbnail image for each of your currently open Apps. Apps can be force-closed by swiping the corresponding thumbnail off the top of the screen.
