iPhone 16 pro max won't turn off screen

In Settings -> Display & Brightness I have Auto-Lock set for 2 minutes, Raise to Wake turned on, and Always On Display set to Off. For some reason, however, this is not working 99% of the time. That is, when I set it up, it works once or twice but afterwards, the screen stays on unless I turn it off manually. Is this a bug or am I missing something in the settings? TIA

'Always on' display turning off automatically on my iPhone 16 Pro Max Hi, I upgraded to the 16 pro max. Have seen a few threads logged with this exact same problem but the always on display sometimes turns off for no reason and the screen is dark. I have tried a hard reboot, and software is up to date. My understanding is the display is always supposed to be dimly lit even in a dark room? It is working 95% of the time but other times the phone just appears off until you pick up the device which activates this feature again. iPhone 16 Pro lock screen doesn’t turn off i’m having a weird issue on my iPhone, it surely is just a bug but i’d like to know if it is happening to somebody else: sometimes the lock screen just doesn’t turn off. and i’m not talking about the always on display, i’m talking about the FULL lock screen, like, a get a notification which turns the screen on, and then it just stays there, it doesn’t turn off anymore, i could leave it there for ten hours and it would still be there. it happened once yesterday, force rebooted the iPhone and it went back to normal, but now it’s happening all over again. that’s weird

screen not switching off automatically hi I have iPhone 12 max just updated to iOS 16.3 (public releases ) I have found that my screen is not dimming or switching off and I have to do it manually then any notification the screen turns on and will not dim/switch off any ideas
