For subscriptions started using an in-app purchase then it is easy, since Apple manages the subscription.

If you don't see the subscription in the link above to cancel it, then the subscription was made directly with the company. This is common when clicking a link on Facebook or other Social Media app and can also be done from a website advertisement. This would have directed you to their web page and you chose the Free Trial option that authorized them to bill you as a subscription service if it was not cancelled.
