If screen mirroring or streaming isn't working on your AirPlay-compatible device - Apple Support

AirPlay compatible devices have an on|off setting for AirPlay. It may be off by default.

  • If your smart TV does not support AirPlay, then you may check if it supports the Apple TV app directly, for Apple TV content.
  • If you were seeking AirPlay for use with the Apple TV app, and the smart TV doesn't support this app, then select TV-connecting streaming devices also support the Apple TV app. E.g. Apple TV box, Roku, Fire TV, PlayStation (4, 5), Xbox (One, One S, X, S), ‘Chromecast with Google TV’-dongle, Nvidia Shield TV box, or select TV provider boxes that support apps.
  • If your smart TV does not support AirPlay, then you may connect an AirPlay-supporting streaming device, such as an Apple TV box or Roku.
