Search function broken since updating to Sequoia

Since updating to OS Sequoia 15.0.1, the search function is broken in Photos, Mail and Calendar. No results come up. This makes work impossible. When is a fix coming??? I'm on a 2019 16 inch MacBook Pro.

MacBook Pro 16″, macOS 15.0

Hey quesques!

Thanks for all the info……so this occurs across multiple applications I see. Could you please see if the same results from searching Spotlight or even Finder?

Search for anything with Spotlight on Mac - Apple Support

If Spotlight isn’t working correctly you can follow the steps here:

Rebuild the Spotlight index on your Mac - Apple Support

If multiple apps are affected, you can drag/drop the entire volume of Macintosh HD (typically) into the window to then remove it.

You can tell when the indexing begins by pressing Command and the space bar, to pull up Spotlight search, type in any character without pressing Return and you will see a progress bar indicating that it’s indexing, this process can take a while, even a day or so to complete, depending.

Otherwise I think knowing if the same happens in another user account is one of the best isolation steps to try out, if needed, you can just create a temporary user account just for this:

Add a user or group on Mac - Apple Support

The resolution may depend on the results of those steps, let me know how it goes, glad to help out if I’m able to!
