iPhone 16 Pro Max - Touch Screen Sensitivity Issues

I seem to be having touch screen issues with my new iPhone 16 Pro Max.

Sometimes the key touches aren’t recognised & in general the sensitivity and response to typing just doesn’t seem to up to the usual standard and speed. I’ve swapped to my old iPhone 13Pro and you can definitely tell/feel the difference.

I’ve tried a reboot, removing screen protectors & cases but nothing is seeming to help.

I did read on Reddit that this could be a software issue rather than hardware which is what I’m hoping the case may be!

Same here. New iphone 16 Pro Max. Touchscreen is often unresponsive. This occurs when I am scrolling down and the screen does not move. The back button, especially in the upper left corner is often not responsive. Sometimes I have to hit it 5 or 6 times to get it to work. Based on the posts on this subject I am obviously not the only one having this problem. I have updated the software, reset the network, etc. No help. I went to Apple Chat and went through their diagnostics process, it seemed to help a little, but the problem is still there. Apple must be aware of this problem and must be working on a fix, at least I hope so. Thanks.

Did u do this via apple direct? Bought my phone like under a month via Verizon.

Misery loves company I guess.

Insane the top of line phone from apple is this defective out the gate. Left thumb hurts. I wonder if it’s software or hardware or both. Lots of same reports on Reddit. Silence from Apple. This could be the push to Android for me dependent on a fix or warranty. A swap to another phone same model 16 ProMax I bet has same issue.

I switched from Android to Apple. Thought it’s an apple thing but it’s a genuine issue. The touch requires a little more pressure to make things work. I face a lot of challenges with swipe functionality in YouTube or in general as well. Typing this itself feels so weird. Is there any setting to change which can help increase the sensitivity? Or what is the possible solution to this? Pls help
