Can I simply copy a section of my online bank statement (online, not PDF) and paste it into Numbers without having to do a lot of other stuff? Seems I could do so a few years ago. Right now if I copy a part of an online statement and paste it in, I get the first column only and it's displayed left to right over and over again.
Surely there's an easy way to do this. If not, are there programs that will?

Paste what you are copying into a text editor (TextEdit with format set to plain text in its Settings will do) and see what you get there. Is it correctly formatted as csv?
Most banks offer a csv download option. Often it is easier to use that, open in Numbers, and delete the parts you don't need.

It needs to 'fit', so if you're selecting 4 columns and trying to paste them into 1 column, it may not work. Make sure you're selecting 4 columns to copy and then pasting them into 4 columns in Numbers.
Does that make sense?
Thanks for your reply. This is what I'm getting. The date (column 1) is repeated and other columns aren't coming in at all.
