A friend of mine told me he saw six sms messages send within 3 minutes time from his iPhone to Russia. He has not done so, but can find them back in his SMS history. His mobile provider told him it was probably coming from an application installed on his mobile. Does anyone know what application that could be?

What was the country code of those messages?
Has he checked to see if anyone else is using his Apple ID? Go to Settings/[his name] and it will list all devices that share his Apple ID.
The network code was 7. The telephone number was 007648787****.
I told him my list of devices was my iPhone, iPad and Windows machine. According to him his list of devices was of iCloud and AppStore.
