Middle East IPhone version
I bought a Middle East version of iPhone 16 pro and it’s working perfectly with my Nigerian Sim.
So, buying a country version doesn’t mean it won’t work in another country. Enjoy
iPhone 13 Pro, iOS 18

Some countries' iPhones will work in other countries, yes. That's not always the case since carrier support (SIMs, frequencies and bands) can differ from country to country. The main issue, though, is that you may get no technical support for an iPhone purchased in a different country; the warranty and service for any iPhone is not international. That's why most experienced users here strongly advise against purchasing an iPhone in a country that is not your primary residence.
Regards.

But.....if you bought the 16 Pro in the U.S., it would not work with your Nigerian Sim. That is because the U.S. version has no Sim card(s) at all.
eSIM is enabled in Nigeria right so it will work perfectly.
The concerns is always with the carrier and not about physical or esims.
I am a Nigerian and I understood the challenge which is the same with other African people.
They just want to know if the carrier at home country will work on their new phone.
I understand the local problem from Africa and that post has addressed it.
We always have the fear of phone not supporting our local SIM cards and not the apple warranty.
Thank you for your input regardless
