Question About iCloud Storage and Data Retention Post Plan Cancellation

I recently had to cancel my I hope this message finds you well. I recently had to cancel my iCloud storage plan due to some financial reasons, and I now have excess data in my iCloud Drive. I’m reaching out to confirm how the data retention policy works in this case and what I can do to protect my files.

I came across a forum post from 2019 that mentioned iCloud offers a 30-day grace period after the plan cancellation, during which users can either download their data or upgrade to a suitable storage plan. However, I’m unsure if these terms have changed since then. Could you please clarify if my data will still be retained, and for how long, after my plan officially expires on October 27, 2024?

Additionally, I anticipate being able to resume payments and upgrade to a new plan in approximately 4-7 days after the expiration date. Will my data still be available, or will it be erased during this period?

Lastly, if this poses a potential risk to my files, could you recommend steps I should take to mitigate the problem and ensure my data is safe until I can upgrade my plan?

Thank you for your time and assistance. I look forward to your guidance.
