Cannot change "Require password after screensaver begins or display is turned off" - it is readonly.

I'm running 15.0.1 on a MacBook Air (M2). I'm tired of not being able to use my fingerprint reader to log in SO much more than I had to running MacOS 14.x.

There is a setting called "Require password after screensaver begins or display is turned off" however the button is greyed out and is set to "Immediately". I cannot change that setting for reasons unknown and I really want to change it.

I should add that my login does have admin privileges.

By default the iPhone Mirroring app will prevent you from changing that setting to Never or to After a time.

If you see this message under "Require password after screen saver begins or display is turned off" ...?

You need to adjust your iPhone Mirroring setting to "Ask every time" as suggested.

Then you should be able to adjust the "Require password....." setting to Never or to After a time. .
