Battery exceeding set charge limit on iPhone
Battery charging was set to 80 percentage, but still showing 86 percentage battery performance, my iPhone 16, why this happening?

This will happen because the battery will still charge to 100% on what Apple says is "on occasion" to help with accurate battery calibration and battery health settings.

The big question is what "occasionally" might actually mean. When I used this setting, I found that "occasionally" meant about once a week. Other users have reported different results....some more often and others not as often.
Personally, I think the 80% Limit is more of a gimmick than anything else. I get much better battery performance when I set the phone to 100%, enable Optimized Battery Charging and connect the charger to the phone at night and leave it connected all night......every night.
But, that might be another discussion.
