I want to unhide files
and I have tried the method I found
1. Command + Shift + .
2. Command via Terminal
Default is write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles TRUE
killall Finder
Still can't unhide all only show hidden files

If you're trying to hide them again, replace TRUE with FALSE in the command.
If you're trying to show /dev in the Finder, you can't. It's hardcoded to be invisible.

MacOS hides the files for a reason. You can unhide them, but not convert them to a typical file.
