Airplay icon missing on Macbook Air M1 after seqouia update

I have a Macbook Air M1 and recently updated to seqouia. It’s on the latest update. After I updated the airplay icon when watching a video no longer appears, meaning if I want to use airplay I can only do so through screen-mirroring which is not really ideal for videos or other media because of the lower quality and unable to use the Apple TV controller.

I have tried absolutely everything, being on the same network, firewall changes, rebooting, everything. I have googled online as well but the few people who have the same issues as me have not recieved help. All tips regarding this issue that I see have not fixed it when I tried.

The videos are not the problem either because the airplay icon pops up on my iPhone when it’s the same video and source. I’m unsure of which generation my Apple TV is, either the 2015 (HD 4th) or 2017 (4K 1st gen) one. It is on the latest update tvOS 18.0, last updated 23rd of October.
