I can't type on my Imac, so I'm stuck on the start screen indefinitely.

I have a wireless keyboard, It's charged and I tried charging it some more, but to no avail. About a year and a half ago, I had a big issue with my computer having mouse keys on, making me unable to type in my password. Since then, I have purchased a keyboard with a number pad, so the mouse keys don't bother me again. But, even though I have mouse keys turned off, every time I start up my computer, it still shows "Mouse keys on". Once in a while, when I go to wake my computer up, I need to press the power button. After that, I need to unplug and plug back in my wired mouse, as it doesn't move if I don't. So, as of right now, my mouse is working just great, but I can't type on my keyboard, making me stuck on the login screen.

Use a USB keyboard and mouse then! They are inexpensive and one should always have one on-hand to troubleshoot bluetooth keyboard and mouse issues.
