Why did my new iPhone 16's screen go black?

Recently switched from Android to this 2 weeks ago. With a 95% battery the phone went completely black screen. It wouldn’t turn on or even acknowledge a charger. I had to do a force restart. Any ideas why this happened and what I can do about it.
