Limiting internet and YouTube access for child on 2017 iPad

Hi,

I have gifted my old 2017 iPad to my eldest daughter who is 8 years old

My Wife and I are concerned about what she is accessing on the internet and YouTube and I was wondering if I can limit her access?

My only concern is that as she is using my account, will that mirror onto my new 2022 iPad?

she has been using YouTube quite a bit and although I can see her search history on my new iPad I want to limit her browsing

Can anyone shed any ideas on this matter? I am not technically minded so please explain in simple terms 😉

kindest regards

Mark

Sharing an AppleID between users is a very bad idea.

Your child should have their own AppleID - in fact, every user should have their own AppleID. This is essential to maintain intended separation of activities and to avoid unintended sharing of unintended information and data.

You may find this information to be helpful with setting-up an AppleID for a minor - and in considering appropriate controls while continuing to share Apps and paid Apple services if you should choose to do so:
