How to stop iCloud from starting automatically

iCloud starts when windows starts, it starts on login, it starts on resume, it starts when I don't want it to.

I have it disabled in taskmanager>startup but that doesn't stop it from starting. The only way to stop it is to uninstall but I do want to run it manually infrequently and only for a few minutes to sync certain files or content.

Should I just uninstall and discontinue my iCloud subscription and use OneDrive exclusively?
