Unable to install OS X El Capitan 10.11 on my iMac with "403 Forbidden" error. Having issues with reinstalling the OS on this computer. Have tried online recovery and restore from a bootable USB stick and always run into issues with the authentication process. I can get to the install page and enter my Apple ID and PW and it will usually send an authentication code which I enter but then I get a popup saying that "An unexpected error occurred while signing in" "The server gave an error during download: 403 Forbidden". After that it boots me out of the installer. My Apple UN/PW are valid so that is not the issue. Apple support is no help as they say it's a "Vintage Computer" and can't provide any support. The HD currently has no OS on it because the Apple support Tech had me delete it when trying to reinstall. I was thinking that the time/date being wrong may cause this issue but have no way to set because the OS is missing now. Any ideas and or help would be appreciated. Error 403 while reinstall macbook pro A1278 MacOS X El Capitan Hello, I've just wipe out my Hard drive. I try to reinstall El Capitan but after I signed on with my Apple credentials there is an error message : An unexpected error occured while signing in. The server gave an error during download : 403 Forbidden. I read about the date solution but it didn't solve my problem... Is there someone who can help me with this please?

Not able to reinstall OS X El Capitan because of an error 403 I was preparing a 2008 iMac to be sold or donated and I was successful in erasing the hard drive, but when I attempted to sign into the App Store using my Apple ID, I received an Error 403 Forbidden. What do I need to do to reinstall OS X El Capitan on this iMac?

Follow the instructions to the letter when creating a bootable macOS installer.

Create a bootable installer for macOS - Apple Support

I usually skip all Apple ID stuff when installing and log in to Apple ID later. Please describe your workflow in more detail, if necessary.
