Having 2 Studio Displays is a bit of a curse

We're almost in 2025 and Apple still doesn't let you name your displays. This may seem to be a trivial issue, but it's not. I have 2 Apple Studio Displays and this is a problem with video conferencing. When joining a call on Teams, Zoom, or Google Meet, it's a tossup which Studio Display will be used by the video software, so it's best to get this configured up front. However, when going into the conferencing software setup to specify which monitor to use, BOTH monitors are called Studio Display. This is not helpful. Often, I just have to enter the video conference, and when it doesn't work, I have to go into the video conference prefs and switch it to the other monitor that's also called Studio Display. This does not impress other users on the call -- or rather it does, but not in a good way. Surely Apple would like users who can afford it to own more than one Studio Display, right? Wouldn't that imply that Apple would want to fully support this?

Is there an undocumented way to rename these monitors? I've read that I can edit the system prefs in /Library/Preferences/.GlobalPreferences.plist, but it's unclear if this will mess with other things at the system level.
