Persistent Crash When Creating Custom Data Format in Keynote

Hello,

I'm encountering a consistent crash in Keynote whenever I attempt to create a custom data format within a table cell. Here are the specifics of my setup and actions that trigger the issue:

  • Application Version: Keynote 14.2 (7041.0.109)
  • Operating System: macOS 15.0.1 (Build 24A348)
  • Error Type: EXC_BAD_INSTRUCTION (SIGILL), with error code 4 indicating an “Illegal instruction” error.

Issue Description:

The crash occurs immediately when I try to apply or create a custom format in a cell. I have tested this in both new and existing Keynote files, and the crash is reproducible under these circumstances. I’ve also confirmed that I am only selecting individual cells rather than large ranges to avoid potential data type conflicts.

Troubleshooting Steps Already Taken:

  1. I verified that both macOS and Keynote are updated to the latest versions.
  2. Cleared Keynote-related cache files from ~/Library/Containers/com.apple.iWork.Keynote.
  3. Uninstalled and reinstalled Keynote.

Unfortunately, none of these steps have resolved the issue, and the application continues to crash.

I’d appreciate any assistance or recommendations you can provide to resolve this issue, as I rely on custom formatting capabilities within Keynote for my workflow. Please let me know if there is additional diagnostic information I can provide.
