Macbook air m1 cursor not clicking

Recently, my MacBook air M1 has been having issues such as Apple Music constantly changing songs when the system lags, and most frequently, the mouse cursor can move, but it won’t click (for example, I can’t close apps or click on any part of the screen). The trackpad still responds to clicks, but the issue only appears a few minutes after I start the computer. I’ve tried restarting the MacBook, but each time, the cursor only works for a few minutes before it stops clicking again. i have updated to the latest macos. Has anyone experienced a similar problem, or does anyone know how to fix this? Please let me know. Thank you.
