Old Aperture Libraries

I am migrating many terabytes of data from outdated external drives to a new array. I discovered four Aperture libraries on the drives. When I click "get info" on the Library icons it shows that between them the 4 libraries have over 600 GB of data on them. I know that Apple no longer supports Aperture, and the software itself no longer works. I have downloaded two apps that purport to be able to access all Aperture files. But even with the best of the apps, when I drag a library into it, it will show the library, but says that there are no images in it.

Is it possible that these libraries are actually empty? If so how can "get info" show so much data?

I appreciate any ideas from anyone.

Thanks

What are the two apps?

You can check the contents of the libraries as follows:

Right click on the Library icon and go 'Show package Contents'. The contents of the package are revealed. There should be a folder called "masters". That should contain the images as downloaded from the camera.

Make no changes of any kind. Just verify that there are actual photographs in the Masters Folder. If there are you can then decide how to progress, depending on what your preferred outcome is.

The two apps are POWERPHOTOS, and PEAKTO. The PEAKTO support person got back to me and gave me the same tip as you did. So I did find what was in the library. He suggested that I forward to them the "database"of a couple of images, for their team to help me access the library into their app. But I do not find this "database" file they want.

But interestingly, in checking thru the smallest of the 4 libraries, I discovered that all of the images are actually in my folders on the drive. I will check on the other libraries, but my hunch now is that somehow the libraries are only copies of my edited images anyway.

I find no "masters" folder.

Thanks
