Apple TV internet connect issues

About a week ago I tried to log into Apple tv app via my Xfinity account (like I always do on my main TV) and the login kept failing and asking for permissions using QR code and passwords, etc. like I was a new user. The app would never get past the QRcode screen, so I was never able to connect. I finally gave up. A few days later I started getting notifications that my "Home hub" was disconnected. Then "home hub connected". This was happening off and on all day. I then tried to watch my Apple TV itself (I don't use it very often and it is on a TV in my kitchen) and I could not connect to the internet even though the device said that it is connected to my wifi network. Everything else in the house works fine (cams, smart switches, smart bulbs, doorbells, Alexa devices, etc). I did a modem reset. Power appletv on/off. Still not working. I tried to check software, would not connect. I tried a reset, would not connect. I moved my apple TV into my office (maybe 12 feet away) and hooked directly with ethernet cable into my Eero 6 mesh extension along with my computer. Computer gets speedtest of 450mb. Speed test on appletv says "could not connect to the internet". I've even done a reset on the AppleTV (it took three attempts) and I finally got the unit to reset and download software. It took forever to redownload apps, and is almost impossible to log into an app once downloaded. Xfinity stream fails. Prime video fails. I can then go back to speedtest and it will connect with 400+mbps then a few minutes later I can't connect -this is still using ethernet, not wifi. I can then go to an app (xfinity stream for example) and I get a QR code, OK on my phone, then TV displays "something went wrong" after a few minutes. I eventually could get into Netflix a bit, but it's hit and miss. I get all of the thumbnails and categories, but it took a few minutes to actually start the program, so I go back to speedtest and I get 300+mbps. Is maybe the internet connection with the apple TV box failing? I just don't know what else to do. I have no idea if the original xfinity apple tv app issue is even related.
