When importing some cd's to itunes ,it will recognize the title and the songs, but when starting to actually import it just zips through each track instantly and then the tracks are not imported. I will try the check import settings and enable error correction, but is there anything else I can try?

Try the suggestions in the "if you have trouble..." section in here: Import songs from CDs into iTunes on PC - Apple Support
Also, if the problem is affecting only some CDs, but not all, consider that the CDs may have a problem. This is becoming much more common as the CDs in our collection age, and are subject to "bronzing" and other degradations.
