My samsung T1 portable SSD is no longer recognised after upgrading to mac OS Sequioa

Use a Third Party Drive and using a Third Party Software that manages the drive, usually has a downside

In this case the T1 Samsung drive " can no longer be read "

You may consider removing the Third Party Drive Management Software

Depending on what Drive Format has been applied to the drive

Reformat the Drive to a Native Apple format

Erase and reformat a storage device in Disk Utility on Mac

There is something called S.M.A.R.T that the settings say my SSD is not compatible with.

Define " native’ apple format " ?

Apple computers can Read and Write to drives formatted to APFS / GUID, HFS Journaled / GUID, FAT / MBR, exFat / MBR

They can Read Only form drives formatted In Microsoft NTFS Format but and can not write to that drive

That would require a Third Party Software to get that ability

Test the drive on another Apple Computer

Test the drive on a MS Windows Computer

I’m on Sonoma still but just had my Crucial SSD unmount itself sometime in the last 2 weeks after installing an update on my Mac. After contacting Crucial, they said that there is a bug/issue with the latest Mac updates that is causing drives to unmount randomly.

Not sure how much truth there actually is to this (and I unfortunately don’t have a solution) but thought I’d share.

Just to fair and balanced on this issue

Using 3 Different External SSD Drives and several Different older 2.5" Rotational Drives

Each directly connected to the computer

No Third Party Disk Management Software install at all

Not experiencing any of these outlined issues
