Apple Pay is not working on my MacBook Pro

Double-clicking on touchpad to pay does not work. Is there a part of the touchpad specifically that must be double-clicked?

Since your MacBook Pro does not have biometrics identification, all Apple Pay transactions will need to be confirmed via your iPhone. You’ll be required to approve the transaction by double clicking the side button of your iPhone.

You’re misunderstand the prompt. The prompt is trying to visually show you that the side button needs to be double clicked.
