Right Click clicking on track pad is inconsistent.

Right-click functionality became inconsistent after MacOS 12.1 and I may have discovered why. I am on a Macbook Pro using the track pad, but I see comments about right click not working in many different setups and with external devices. I have narrowed it down to an OS change to input interpretation.

PROBLEM: Using right click two-finger, lower right click on mouse pad, and with tap to click on or off, often navigating to a location, after clicking to select, a right-click does not work.

WORKAROUND: When I navigate in a small circle between the left click to select and the right click, then right click consistently works. Using CTRL+left click consistently works also, though now requires two hands to achieve a right click.

Hypothesis: This seems similar to a practice used to achieve better double click detection, and perhaps the first click is not timing out as expected so we cannot get to a right-click without moving the mouse to reset the click state.

Setting tablet stylus second button to right-click is another workaround. However right-click is a standard input should work with native hardware, and without workarounds.
