If the problem returns contact Apple support and they can run diagnostics.

Force quiting will not address a potential hardware issue. Never had a phone get it from using the camera. Visit an Apple Store for help.
In 17 years I have never had an iPhone get hot from using the camera.

No, but it will get the OP's phone unfrozen so they can possibly use it until they can take it to Apple for repair.

Yes, it happens if you use the camera a lot at one go. Especially videos.

Isn't that interesting that you and Lawrence have owned iPhones for exactly that same length of time. Interesting co-incidence.
That is how long iPhones have existed. And I have gotten one every year and never had it get hot from the camera.
