Macbook pro m2 connected to a external monitor - battery life

Hi guys. I want to buy an external monitor to work from home with a macbook pro m2, but i have been reading that the battery would be plug in constantly and i wonder if it could damage the battery life of the macbook.

Your Mac will manage its own battery health (unless you disable the optimize setting in System Settings > Battery). If you run on AC most of the time, including connected to a display that provides power, the Mac will pause charging with the battery at 80% to keep the battery healthy longer.


The advice you read about it being a problem to stay on AC most of the time is outdated. If it's convenient to run on AC, do so.
