iOS 18 Calculator Dissatisfaction, Especially With % Percentage Calculations

I recently got the new iPhone and with it came the calculator which has been subtlety changed from the iOS 17 version.

On my old phone I would use the phone to calculate tips or anything like that by typing in the amount plus the percentage amount (which would show up as a number instead of for example 20%) and equals to get the final number. now it shows up on the screen like this;

100+20%=

120

instead of;

100

20

120

It is really annoying and I hope there is an easy fix to get it back to the way at least that function was.

I honestly prefer the way the app was before. I shouldn't have to go find "another" app.

Every year, we get the new iOS and things change. Sometimes for the better. Sometimes, not. Ultimately, we get used to the new tools and kind of forget how it was previously.

If you want to get the resultant percentage amount, use the multiply key. Doing that now on my iPhone does this:

100x20%=20

If I use the plus key, I get what you're describing:

100+20%=120

I don't use the percent key much, as I'm used to doing the math with a decimal number for the percentage manually, so I don't recall what it did under iOS 17. None the less, the two examples above make sense to me.

It used to give you the number that the percentage of what you wanted the percentage was.

If I input 100+20% it would give me the number 20 before I hit the = button which then gives me the result 120. It bypasses that step entirely. I'm not saying the math is wrong. I want to see the number the result of the percentage is before I hit the = button. That is how it used to do it.
