As of Jan. 17, 2025, This can be solved by logging on to Zoom ON THE WEB:

  1. Log on to Zoom on the web through a browser.
  2. Zoom's online version will detect and offer to download the right version for your mac
  3. I found this on the upper right side as soon as I logged on to Zoom online
  4. Download the Zoom for mac from logged in site
  5. That should work.

Before that, when I tried to download the Mac version from Zoom's download page, that was not compatible.

@Apple What was the reaason behind removing apps without end user permission?
