Apple intelligence not available on Mac Studio after update to Mac OS 15.1

I meet all the criteria for hardware, updated to 15.1, yet none of the features touted in the Apple press releases and instructions show up on my computer. Siri is enabled, US English is the language, but nothing shows up in System Settings for Apple Intelligence. This is not encouraging.

Hi I was facing the same issue. Upgraded my MacBookPro 16" 2021 M1 Pro. Here below is what I did which enabled Apple Intelligence on my MacBookPro Successfully.

Apple Menu > System Settings > General > Language & Region

Under the Preferred Languages, Ensure you have added : English ( US ) as Primary.

If not click on the + and add English ( US ) and make it to the top of the list as Primary.

And then click on Apple Intelligence in the System Settings Side bar.

on the right hand side of the System Settings You will see a button Join the Apple Intelligence waitlist. Click on it and confirm to join.

It will start preparing and then in the next few minutes ( it took about 15 minutes for me to) you will see a switch next to Apple Intelligence. Turn it on.

I hope this helps

Same here. On Mac OS 15.2 since 27 October - Mac mini M2 - Region Set to US, Siri language set to English US. I am in Australia.

Set language and region back to Australia, restarted, set back to US, restarted, waited a few days, but Siri is still just Siri.

Wondering if I am missing something here? or is my location (Australia) currently not supported even though I set the region to US.

I encountered a similar issue. I believe I accessed Siri’s settings or another relevant option, enabling me to request an invitation. Subsequently, it appears that the request was partially successful, as it indicates that Apple Intelligence is enabled. However, I am only receiving email summaries for a select number of emails, not all of them which is highly unusual.

Your Face ID is likely broken, and (if so) you will have to get your iPhone repaired.

You can try the following sequence:

If Face ID isn't working on your iPhone or iPad Pro - Apple Support

If (when?) that sequence fails to resolve the Face ID problem, contact Apple Support:

Here is how to contact: Official Apple Support

Yes - region is correct. But shortly after I wrote that post, I got a notification asking if I wanted to turn on Apple Intelligence! Apparently it does not install immediately, but has (in my case) about a 4 or 5 hour delay. That is really weird. None of their online documentation discusses this delay. But I guess you just have to wait for some period. Maybe it is building some model from the data on each individual computer

After updating to macOS 15.1, I discovered that the Apple Intelligence features did not appear on my Mac, even though I met all the requirements. It felt a bit like trying to find the right real estate agent—you think you have done everything right, but sometimes you still come up empty. Just like my website emphasizes the importance of connecting with an agent who understands your goals, I was waiting for Apple Intelligence to activate, mirroring the experience of users waiting for the perfect agent. Apple suggests checking your region and language settings, ensuring they are set to US English, and possibly reinstalling macOS. I also learned that Apple Intelligence might only be available for Apple Silicon devices, which would have been helpful to know earlier! Ultimately, whether it is finding the right tech support or a trustworthy agent, it is about more than just checking off boxes; it is about discovering what truly works for you.

Ok I get this far as well. However I was trying for Siri to use ChatGPT and could not get it to work. I watched a YouTube video that you need to activate this separately with an option "Extend Apple Intelligence and Siri". However same as in your screenshot above, that option is missing for me. How the heck can I activate it.

My feeling is that even with Apple Intelligence turned on it is as dumb as ever.
