When trying to run "digikam", I get the message "The application “Finder” does not have permission to open “(null)”."

When trying to run "digikam" on my M2 MAX MacBook Pro, which has recently been updated to Sequoia 15.1, I receive the following pop-up message: "The application “Finder” does not have permission to open “(null)”."

I have tried reinstalling the app, but it makes no difference.

MacBook Pro 16″, macOS 15.1

This issue relates to the system not trusting the code signature, and can be fixed by resigning the application.

In the terminal run these commands which will do just that:

sudo codesign --remove-signature /Applications/digiKam.org/digikam.app

sudo codesign --force --deep --sign - /Applications/digiKam.org/digikam.app

Hi zstrikedev, when i was running the first line of code(slightly modified for Matlab_R2024a), it works. When running the second line of code (modified once again for Matlab), receive the following error: "unsealed contents present in the bundle root". I have attempted to remove any unnecessary files or hidden files that may be producing such error but have been unsuccessful. Anything I can do?
