I dropped my remote control, and now when I select the menu button, I get an endlessly rotating “loading” symbol. I can access a partial menu screen by using the back key to get to the home menu (which doesn’t include Netflix).
is there a way to hard reset the remote? Or do I suck it up and buy a new one? I imagine Apple repair will be more expensive than a new remote.

Apparently Apple doesn’t repair remotes (likely for that reason), in the sense of opening it up and changing anything within. If one is broken, then they can exchange it as one complete unit for a different one.
