Does anyone have any information about Final Cut Camera support for recording at 120fps? I prefer FCC over the native app for the manual focus options. Blackmagic Cam supports it...although I am seeing dropped frames.
The app supports 120 and 240 but only in SD using H.265.
I have no dropped frames with the BMD app. I doubt you'll get 120fps in the FCC app, that's not what it's made for.
Interesting. Glad to hear Blackmagic Cam doesn't drop frames for some users. I'll have to check the parameters to see if something is perhaps interfering. I am curious about the "that's not what it's made for" statement. Can you elaborate? I'll admit I haven't read everything in terms of the manual and marketing materials, so I certainly could have missed a description or guidelines around how it should be used. Not trying to be argumentative at all. If they have a vision that doesn't include higher frame rates, I would be interested in learning more.
Thanks Tom. Based on your and Ben's response, I realize I wasn't clear in my question. I was curious as to whether or not anyone were aware of plans for Final Cut Camera to support 120fps at 4k, now that the native iOS camera app supports it (at least for the 24mm lens).
