Hidden music on Apple Itunes Has Disappeared

One of my all-time favorite albums that I thought I was merely deleting from my phone/playlist has not only disappeared from my hidden albums but now I am required to purchase it again on itunes. I thought it was impossible to permanently delete music from an itunes account. Has anyone experienced this? Is there a fix or do I have to repurchase the album? Please advise.
