Can a Bluetooth device have two paired devices connected at the same time?

I was attempting to connect to my speaker and when i went to settings i saw i was connected to a random device already

Jack’s S23 FE was the device. I just thought this was really weird as i didn’t press connect and didn’t realise two phones could connect via bluetooth, does anyone know why this could happen? I’m on ios 17.6.1

Bluetooth Speaker Connection:

Using Bluetooth, a speaker can only be connected to one device at a time. So, disable Bluetooth on your other device. If you do not have this device, then return this speaker, or try resetting it (perhaps using a reset button on it).
