I am interested in trading in my 15" MacBook Air for one of the new m4 Macs. When I enter the Serial Number it does not recognize that it is a model identifier of 15,13 and jumps to a select the year of production and only shows trade in value of an M2 MacBook Air when completed. Am I trading it in too soon?

There are no M4 MacBook Airs. Apple replaced the M3-family MacBook Pros with M4-family MacBook Pros – but the MacBook Air line still uses M2 and M3 processors.

As you suspected, it may be too early to trade your M3 in. However, I suggest that you contact Apple Sales directly and ask them ... or use the chat feature when going thru the process of ordering a new one.
