Is it possible to get Apple AI on IPhone 14 Pro Max?

I’ve had this phone for a year now and I love it but I don’t like how Apple tosses phones under 2 years old to the side for major updates. I’m just curious because it keeps popping up in my settings.

Not enough memory for the scale and scope necessary for the Apple Intelligence models, purportedly.

The requirements are an iPhone or iPad or Mac with A17 Pro processors or later, or with Apple M1 processors or later.

And your iPhone works just fine for everything else in iOS 18.

This isn't the first time Apple has had restrictions around new features. Apple has previously subsetted support due to hardware or other constraints. Lifting Subjects and Live Text are examples of this, with support available in iOS 15 and later, though requiring newer iPhone models.

Memory? The LLM requirements are generally immense.

How big? Various of the LLM models involved are 100 GB and larger, and which won't fit (in memory) in anything iPhone. Anything using that will either be offloaded, or hitting main storage hard. That Apple fit as much as they did...

How wrong? From one LLM test with the same twenty-five questions asked in English and in Spanish, we "found that 52 percent of the responses to Spanish queries contained inaccurate information compared to 43 percent of responses to queries in English." Those reported inaccuracy rates are bad, and worse.
