No sound in Windows 10 after Update

I have a 2019 iMac 27”, 3.6g 8 core I 9. In 2019 I also created a portable 2tb USB SSD using VMWare Fusion to put windows 10 and Bootcamp on the external drive. I did this by following instructions in an article I had found. It has worked flawlessly until Monday when I did Windows update and updated AMD Radeon driver for my graphics card. Since then I get no sound while booted in Windows 10. Neither through internal speakers or through headphone jack. Windows shows “No output devices found” in the system sound tab. I do have sound when booted in Mac OS. According to Device Manager, the driver for Intel High Definition Audio is missing. I am unable to roll back driver because button is greyed out. When I try to update driver through Windows it says driver not available. I tried to update with Bootcamp and that did not fix the issue, I get an Error BootCampService.exe. I tried updating drivers using 3rd party utility and it did show the Intel High Def Audio driver as one of the updates but it did not fix the issue. Device Manager has High Definition Audio Device in Unknown tab and shows a yellow triangle and indicates no driver, unable to find a driver.

Does anyone have any experience with this issue? I don’t know what else to try, short of a re-install of Windows. I’d rather leave that as a last resort. Thanks. Jim

Also, through further investigation I have found that I have both an Intel High Definition Audio Device and an AMD High Definition Audio Device. The AMD version seems to be valid with driver but Windows is defaulting to the Intel version. Since I have AMD Radeon graphics card, shouldn’t the High Def Audio Device also be the AMD?

if this is true, it would explain the issue. How do I get rid of the Intel High Def Audio Device? I have tried Disabling and Uninstalling through Device Manager but it just reappears after restart.
