Autocorrect changes my to My
Occasionally, my phone will change the normal old lowercase word “my” into “My” and the “My” is a rainbow-colored hypertext link to my wife’s picture. Why does it do this sometimes? It’s not at the beginning of a sentence or after I type a period. I don’t mind looking at an icon of my wife’s photo, but it’s driving me crazy.
Oh, another thing it’s started doing is highlighting the entire word when I’m just trying to insert the cursor to delete or add text at a certain point. Then, if I touch somewhere else on the screen, instead of the cursor moving there, the choices pop up to cut, paste, look-up, etc. I have to touch somewhere away from those choices and start over. But when I try to insert the cursor again, the same thing happens. Sometimes it happens so many times on the same word that I give up and “cut” the highlighted word out, just so the cursor will replace the highlighted word and I can start again. Like the “my-My” problem, this only happens occasionally, which makes it even more maddening. It seems like the “smarter” my phone gets with each iOS update, it gets dumb in a different area.
