Screen Recording/Sharing icon Spyware?

Recently, I’ve come across some concerning social media posts about spyware being installed on personal Macbooks by school organizations. I’m worried that this might have happened to my Mac as well, and I’d like to find and delete it if it exists. I’ve attached a screenshot of the symbol I believe I caught in my Control Center. I’m not certain if this is exactly the malware, but if it is, could you please provide some guidance on how to identify and remove it?
