So someone I know is calling me a lot. I don’t necessarily want to block this person, but I don’t want to receive so many calls. Is there a way to limit how this person can call me without blocking? Can I just block phone calls without blocking the person entirely?
im using an iPhone 14, and im on the most recent update the iOS version 17.7. any support is much appreciated. Thank you.

You could create a focus that does not allow their calls through and enable that focus when you don’t want to get calls from them. (This can come in handy. My wife works from home, for example and has a ‘Work’ focus set up to activate during business hours that will send calls from her father, who is retired and doesn’t seem to understand that she can’t drop everything to chat multiple times a day, when she is working.)
so i tried it with one of my friends, i blocked them so they couldn't call me but we could still message via another app

if I may ask, what exactly is “focus”? I genuinely have never heard of that before. It sounds like something useful, but I’m not sure what it is exactly.
