I want to update my iMAC to new OS 15.1 but my apple id password will not be accepted. It asked for new password. I put in new password. It now says that password is incorrect. How do I activate the update.

Please refer to Change your Apple Account password - Apple Support. IF you continue to have a problem, restart the computer in Safe Mode and then restart normally and try again. Finally if the problem persists, then please give AppleCare a call and they will help you 1:1. AppleCare Contact Info is the link you need to find the phone number for your corner of the planet.
