Can the iphone 16pro show the ringer on/ringer off status via a notification at the top of the phone

On my iphone12 I could instantly see just by looking at the side switch if the phone was muted or not. Now with the iphone 16pro, I use the new little third button to control the phone muting or unmuting. The problem is that there is no continuous icon at the top of the screen to show what status it is in (muted or unmuted). It seems this would be a feature that would be welcomed and a simple feature to add.

Request for prominent silent mode notification on iPhone I was looking to see if apple provided a big banner or other glaring notification that silent mode was on, because that little swithch is always getting turned on without me noting it, and I miss calls. Icon for silent or ring mode can we enable any icon at the top which displays whether the phone is in silent mode or ringer mode?
