I received a suspicious looking email...allegedly from Apple.

"APPLE STORE <au_cons_do_not_reply@asia.apple.com" sent me an email....thanking me for my purchase with an attachment that I didn't open......it looked and was obviously suspicious and I had no such order no. that they quoted.... when thanking me.

Another suspicious coincidence (?) is that I received this email very shortly after I purchased an iMac online from Apple Australia.

I know others in the community have received such emails.

What are your thoughts?

I'm not entirely sure what you are saying...are you suggesting that this is an authentic apple store email?

I have had had no communication with Apple in Asia..and as previously stated... no such order number is connected to any of my purchases ever.

Apple have already responded to my purchase with an ETA delivery date etc. AND quoted the correct order no.

FYI..... I have no doubt that this email is not from Apple...furthermore I have reported it directly to gmail as it came directly to my gmail account.
